A closer look at Channel Finder
Channel Finder is a desktop Chrome extension that finds YouTube channels similar to one you choose, shows public stats such as recent median views and last upload, and saves or exports a shortlist as CSV. It is free during early access, with daily limits.
What it does
Most creator research starts with someone who already works. A cooking brand likes Just One Cookbook, say, and wants ten more channels in that vein. Channel Finder takes that starting point literally. You open the creator's channel or one of their videos, click the extension, and a side panel beside YouTube begins listing similar channels as it finds them. Find more keeps going, and Stop keeps what has arrived so far.
The useful part is what sits on each row. Instead of subscriber count alone, you get a recent median view figure with the number of uploads it was based on, up to 10 from the Videos tab, plus the last upload, posting rate, channel age, the country the creator states and any public links. Expand a row and the recent videos appear, so you can judge the content before writing to anyone. Missing values show as Unknown rather than zero, which matters when you filter.
Who it is for
Brand marketers and small agencies building a YouTube sponsorship shortlist, and anyone mapping a niche before reaching out about a collaboration. Filters cover size, recent views, activity, stated country, title language and whether a creator has published an email. Results or your saved list export as CSV.
The site is careful about what the numbers mean. Similarity comes from public channel content, not measured audience overlap. Country is what the creator says, not where viewers are. Title language and Shorts detection are inferred. Known Shorts and streams are left out of the median, so a channel that posts mostly Shorts can look quieter than it is. An email only appears if the creator published one, and delivery isn't checked.
How it gets the data
The extension reads public YouTube pages directly from your browser while signed out, without your YouTube cookies, and it can't post, comment or subscribe as you. Automated reading of YouTube pages may sit uneasily with YouTube's own terms, so agencies with strict compliance rules should weigh that. When you search, the extension sends public channel text, IDs and stats to the developer's service, which uses AI providers to plan the search and rank candidates. The privacy policy, effective October 31, 2026, says usage events leave out channel names, contacts and CSV contents and are kept for up to 90 days. Saved lists and exports stay on your computer.
It runs in Chrome on a computer only. Early access is free for up to 40 new searches per installation per UTC day, with no ads, and the FAQ says paid plans will come later without final details.
