A closer look at HeartMend Daily: Breakup Help
An iPhone app for breakup self-reflection, combining a 30-day programme, check-ins and a locally stored journal.
A small task for each day
HeartMend Daily packages breakup reflection into a 30-day iPhone programme. Its listing describes short daily exercises, a journal and check-ins for mood and the urge to contact a former partner. A No Contact companion and a brief relief exercise sit alongside the longer programme.
The appeal is the structure: someone who wants a prompt for today can begin with one exercise rather than a blank journal page. The developer explicitly describes it as a self-reflection tool that does not replace therapy, medical care or emergency support. ProjectRadar reviewed the public listing and policies without using the app.
Local entries, separate service data
The privacy policy says personal answers, mood values, contact-urge values and journal text stay encrypted on the device and are not sent to the developer, RevenueCat or Google Analytics. No user account is required. The tradeoff is recovery: the developer says it has no server copy from which to restore deleted entries.
Purchases still involve Apple and RevenueCat, including a pseudonymous app identifier and subscription records. The policy also describes optional Firebase Analytics, activated only after an explicit choice in onboarding or Settings. It says those events cover app and feature use, without journal text or mood values. Local journaling should not be read as a claim that the entire app sends no data.
What Premium adds
The current listing offers day one, immediate-relief and safety features for free, with the complete programme behind Premium. New purchases can be a renewing monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase; the binding price and exact benefits appear in the app before confirmation.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The terms direct users to Apple’s subscription settings for cancellation.
