Project Note
A closer look at Tweaky Driver
A proprietary Windows driver inventory and update-review app that distinguishes available offers from catalog candidates.
Detected does not mean ready to install
A device appearing in a scan is only the beginning of a driver-update decision. Tweaky Driver separates detected hardware, download-ready offers and catalog candidates. Its official documentation makes the limit explicit: finding a package does not establish compatibility, and some packages are offered only for download. Installation is a separate step.
The app is aimed at Windows 10 and 11 x64 users who want to compare installed and available versions along with package sources. That information can make an update easier to inspect, but it doesn't show that a newer driver will improve a working machine. Hardware coverage depends on the supported sources and compatible packages.
Keep track of the selection
Version 0.1.10's release notes describe controls for selecting visible packages, clearing a selection and seeing when a filter hides something already selected. The last detail matters when narrowing a long list. A hidden selection should not quietly become an update you forgot choosing.
The same release describes more responsive cancellation while component-catalog requests are waiting. These are documented features, not results from running the application for this note. Neither scanning nor package installation was tested.
Read the release you plan to use
On October 2, 2026, the official latest-release page showed version 0.1.10. Its notes describe monthly and annual plans but do not state their prices, so check current terms before purchasing. The repository also says its WinGet submission remains pending; it directs users to GitHub releases for current downloads.
The public repository distributes Windows installers and documentation under proprietary terms. Having a GitHub page does not make this an open-source driver manager. Its release notes are useful for understanding supported workflows and limits before deciding whether to install.
