A closer look at Binary Code Translator
Binary Code Translator converts binary to text and text to binary in the browser, handles messy pasted input, Unicode and emoji, and needs no sign-up.
What it's for
Say a worksheet asks you to decode a byte string, or someone pastes a row of 0s and 1s into a chat. Binary Code Translator takes that string as it is, spaced, run together or full of stray characters, and turns it into text. Type text instead and it goes the other way. The direction is detected automatically, and there are one-click examples ("Hi", "Hello World", an emoji pair and a short Chinese phrase) if you just want to see how it works.
When the answer looks wrong
The useful part is what happens when decoding fails. The page says the translator never guesses. An incomplete byte is reported with its exact position rather than being quietly turned into the wrong character, an ambiguous input like 10101 is confirmed with you first, and a status line says which encoding was used. A "Fix errors" section walks through the usual reasons pasted binary turns into gibberish.
The inspector is handy for learning. Click any character in the result and it shows the code point, the UTF-8 bytes, hex and binary. The site's own example is the waving-hand emoji, which takes four bytes (F0 9F 91 8B).
Privacy and limits
The page says every conversion runs in your browser, nothing is sent over the network or stored, and the translator keeps working offline. There's a privacy policy and terms page, and no sign-up. It's a single-purpose tool with a few sibling converters for hex, ASCII and a binary alphabet, so it's best for decoding and teaching rather than general data conversion.
