Project Note

A closer look at Coin Boss

CoinBoss aggregates crypto derivatives data, including liquidations, open interest, funding rates, long/short ratios, spot and derivatives volume, ETF flows and exchange balances, from the public APIs of major exchanges.

What it does

When a big move hits crypto markets, the questions people ask next are usually about derivatives. How much got liquidated, and was it mostly longs? Is open interest climbing or unwinding? Are funding rates paying longs or shorts? CoinBoss gathers those numbers from the public APIs of major exchanges and lays them out on one page.

The homepage opens with headline figures: 24-hour volume split between derivatives and spot, total liquidations split into longs and shorts, Bitcoin open interest, a funding rate averaged across six exchanges and weighted by open interest, and long/short ratios for Binance, OKX and Bybit pairs. Below that, a coin table shows price, funding, volume, open interest with one-hour and 24-hour change, and liquidations, with filters, custom columns and a watchlist. Separate pages cover a liquidation heatmap, exchange rankings, exchange Bitcoin balances, Bitcoin ETF net flows and token unlocks, and the site also has a light game where you call Bitcoin's daily close for points.

Who it is for

Traders and researchers who check derivatives positioning as part of their routine, and developers who want that data without running their own collectors. The API is the practical draw for builders. All endpoints are currently free with no authentication. The pricing page lists planned tiers from $19 to $499 a month, but says paid plans aren't available yet and that the structure may change.

The about page is clear about the limits. Data is collected and cleaned by automated systems, CoinBoss is still under active development, and it doesn't offer investment advice or asset management. Treat the figures as a reference to check, not a signal to act on.
