A closer look at DayCount: Countdown Widget
An iPhone countdown app with personal event styling, selected Calendar imports and Home Screen widgets.
Give one event a place on your Home Screen
DayCount can show the soonest event in a widget or keep a chosen countdown visible. That choice makes sense for a trip you want to keep checking even when another date comes first. You can add a title, emoji, color and category, then choose how much time detail to show.
Use the dates already in Calendar
Calendar import lets you select the events you want as countdowns. Created countdowns can also be exported to Calendar. Import needs permission to read events; export needs permission to create them. You can decline those permissions and enter dates manually.
Check the iOS requirement
The US App Store lists DayCount as free for iPhone, with iOS 26 or later required. No account is needed. The privacy policy says countdown information uses local Apple storage and reminders use Apple's local notification system. Limited countdown data is shared with the widget extension for display.
The terms say widgets and notifications depend on iOS behavior and may not update at an exact time. A countdown can keep a birthday or departure date visible, but it shouldn't be the only reminder for a deadline you can't miss.
