A closer look at EUDR Tools

A preparation workspace for product scope checks, supplier geolocation files and EUDR evidence records.

Find what to send back to a supplier

EUDR Tools helps prepare files for the EU's regulation on deforestation-free products. Its GeoLab looks for unclosed polygons, coordinate problems and missing plot details in supplier files. It describes importing formats including KML, Shapefile, CSV and Excel, then converting them to GeoJSON. A specific finding can make a supplier correction request more useful than a general request to send the file again.

Map Studio adds drawing and vertex editing, with area checks and downloadable plot files and reports. A repaired polygon still needs to represent the real production plot. These checks do not establish the land's legal status or prove that it is deforestation-free.

Put the product code beside the evidence

The HS Scope Checker takes a product code or name and shows likely scope and preparation context. Its FAQ explains why a broad heading may need a narrower code. References on country risk sit alongside that work, while the Data & Sources page links the regulatory references and explains how the site's indexes are updated.

Those references need a date check before a filing decision. EUDR Tools' terms leave classification and due diligence with the user, and describe the service as an independent preparation aid. It does not certify compliance or file a statement in TRACES.

Free tools with server processing

The core tools are currently free and do not require an account. An optional account saves workspaces across devices. You can download your own files and reports, but the site does not offer its underlying source tables as a bulk feed or reusable API.

The privacy policy says server checks receive geometry and other submitted inputs. It says conversion uploads are processed in memory without intentional retention after the response, while saved workspaces remain in the database until deletion. Maps and optional external checks can also send request data or selected geometry to their providers. Supplier confidentiality matters before uploading a file.
