A closer look at MathSprig

MathSprig is a free worksheet generator for teachers and parents. Pick a skill such as multiplication facts or equivalent fractions, set the number range, question count and layout, and print the sheet with its answer key on A4 or US Letter.

What it does

MathSprig is for the moment you need a page of practice in five minutes. You pick a skill, adjust a few settings and print. The multiplication facts page is a good example. You set a factor range between 0 and 12, choose how many questions, pick one or two columns, standard or large text, and A4 or US Letter. Then you print a practice sheet and a separate answer key, or save both as a PDF. There's an option to include a worked example at the top, and the printed page leaves blank lines for a name and date.

Topics run from number sense and the four operations through fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages, integers, algebra, geometry, and measurement and data. If you want review across topics, the mixed worksheet generator combines several skills on one sheet with matching answers.

Small details that help

Each sheet prints with a seed code, and the site explains how to use it to re-create the exact same worksheet. That's handy if you want to hand out the same practice again or match a student's copy to the right key. Skill pages also include a short explanation, a worked example and teaching notes, such as using a known fact like 5 × 7 to work out 6 × 7.

The pages are honest about their limits. The multiplication sheet, for instance, picks both factors from one range, so you can't ask for just the 7 and 8 times tables.

Privacy

The privacy page says worksheets, questions, answers and PDFs are created in your browser and aren't sent to a server. There are no accounts, learner profiles or saved worksheet histories. If you tick the option to remember paper, layout and text size, those settings stay in your browser's local storage. Making a set for a class doesn't require entering any student details.
