A closer look at Omie
Omie is a daily learning app that starts with a 90-second skill scan, then picks one lesson of about ten minutes a day from your goals, gaps and past answers. There's a free plan, a $9 Premium plan and per-seat team pricing.
What it does
Most learning apps hand you a catalogue and let you choose. Omie does the choosing. You answer a short scan, about 90 seconds of questions such as what you'd do first when something new lands on your desk, and it draws a skill map. From then on it picks one lesson a day, roughly ten minutes long, based on your goals, the gaps in that map and how you did the day before. Each lesson ends with a one-line reflection.
The homepage says the engine tracks mastery with Bayesian knowledge tracing and schedules spaced reviews, and its demo shows difficulty going up after two right answers in a row. You don't manage any of that. You open the app, do the lesson and close it. If you get stuck partway, Ada, the built-in coach, offers a simpler explanation or a worked example.
You can try a small version of the scan on the homepage without signing up. It runs in the browser and draws a skill map from your answers.
Who it's for
The free and Premium plans suit someone who wants a short daily habit instead of hour-long courses. The Business plan is aimed at teams and HR. Managers get dashboards, and results are reported against the four Kirkpatrick levels, from how people rated a lesson up to behaviour change on the job, so an L&D team can set them beside its own business numbers. Single sign-on works with Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace and SAML 2.0, and automatic provisioning through SCIM is listed as coming.
Pricing and your data
Personal is free, with one lesson a day and one lifetime scan. Premium costs $9 a month for unlimited lessons in every format, all six languages, a mastery dashboard, audio and offline mode, and one scan a month. Business is $15 per seat per month with a three-seat minimum and unlimited scans. The Premium trial lasts 14 days and needs a card, and the pricing page also offers a 14-day refund. Annual billing is marked as coming soon.
The privacy policy names TryOmie LLC, registered in the UAE, as the party responsible for your data, or your employer if it bought the seats. It collects account details, your lesson answers and time spent, and basic device data. Infrastructure and analytics providers on its sub-processor list can see that data, and deleted accounts are erased after 30 days. On a company plan, your employer's named admins see team analytics.
Worth knowing
The site leans on numbers, and some of them aren't what they look like. The live counters on the homepage are marked as demo data, and the customer stories on the pricing page are labeled as fictional personas with sample outcomes. Read those figures as examples of the reporting, not results. SOC 2 is listed as in progress.
