Project Note

A closer look at ShareOfAsk

ShareOfAsk helps brands and agencies track how AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini mention their brand, which competitors they name and which sources they cite.

The question behind it

The example on ShareOfAsk's homepage is a buyer asking an AI assistant for the best CRM for a 20-person B2B sales team. ShareOfAsk is built for the vendor's side of that exchange. Does the assistant name you, and if not, why not?

You give it the buyer questions that matter in your category. It asks them across AI models and records the answers: which brands are named, in what order, and which sources each answer cites. The sample answer shows why that matters. A made-up CRM gets mentioned last, and the explanation notes that it doesn't appear in either of the two sources the answer drew on, a review roundup and a Reddit thread. The suggested next step is to get listed there. That link between an answer and its sources is more actionable than a single visibility score.

Models, snapshots and plans

The free scan is a one-time check of 10 questions across three models (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google), with one action analysis, and the results stay available to review and share for seven days. Paid plans track up to seven models, adding Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and run on scheduled snapshots so you can watch changes over time.

Starter is $49 a month ($490 a year) for one brand, with up to 25 active questions, three models, one action analysis a month, 12 months of history and three team members. Growth is $199 a month ($1,990 a year) for up to three workspaces, 100 questions, four models per workspace and full history, aimed at agencies or companies with several brands. Enterprise is priced on request.

Fit

It's most useful for a marketing team or agency that already has a clear set of buyer questions and wants to see, week by week, whether its content and listings are changing what assistants say. Because AI answers can change between runs, the scheduled history is the part worth paying for. A single scan shows a snapshot of one moment.
