A closer look at PhotoRealify

PhotoRealify takes an AI-generated image and re-renders it to look like a photograph, rebuilding skin, light and texture and enlarging it up to 4x. The first conversion is free, and plans start at $7.99 a month.

What it does

PhotoRealify starts from a familiar complaint, that AI images look like AI. Plastic skin, painted-on hair and flat fabric give them away, especially at full zoom. The tool re-renders the whole image as a photograph rather than just making it bigger. The site describes two stages. A first pass rebuilds light and materials at the same size while keeping the face, pose and composition. A second pass generates fine detail such as pores, single hair strands and visible fabric weave, and can enlarge the result up to 4x.

You upload a JPEG, PNG or WEBP of up to 25MB, choose one of four realism levels and wait about a minute. The result appears on a before and after slider. The examples cover portraits and selfies, product renders, food, real-estate interiors and pet fur. The first conversion is free with no account. The two highest settings, Extreme realism and 4x output, need a paid plan.

Pricing and privacy

Plans are monthly and credit-based. Starter costs $7.99 for 60 credits, which the site puts at about 30 High conversions or 5 at Extreme. Pro costs $49.99 for 500 credits, and Ultra costs $199.99 for 2,000. Credits reset each month and don't roll over, and the exact cost of each conversion is shown before you run it.

The company behind it is named. VECTORSPELL LTD is registered in England and Wales, and payments go through Stripe. The privacy policy says uploads are processed by third-party AI infrastructure providers only to deliver the conversion. It also says your images are not used to train models and stay in your gallery until you delete them, at which point the original, the result and the intermediate files are removed, apart from backups that are overwritten later.

What to keep in mind

The product's pitch is that people will read the result as a real photo. That is fine for a mood board or a game render, but it gets awkward for product listings and real-estate interiors, where the site openly pitches it with the line that shoppers trust photographs, not renders. The terms put all responsibility for how you publish the results on you, including platform rules. Many marketplaces and ad platforms expect AI imagery to be labeled, so check before you post. As a piece of software it is clear and honestly priced. How you use it is the part to think about.
