Project Note

A closer look at iatroX

A UK clinical AI assistant with sourced answers, case brainstorming, medical question banks, voice simulations and diagnosis games.

Clinical answers with the sources attached

iatroX is aimed at doctors, other healthcare professionals and students in the UK system. Its main tool, Ask iatroX, takes a clinical question and returns a short structured answer drawn from retrieved guidance, with the sources shown. The site describes a provenance-first approach that prioritizes current, attributable material and takes the user's healthcare system into account, and the how-it-works page shows the date of its latest UK guideline sync.

Brainstorm is the slower counterpart. Instead of one lookup, it walks through differentials, investigations and management for a case. Around both sit reference pages for medicines and clinical guidance, and a set of calculators.

The learning side

A large part of the platform is education. There are question banks you can filter by exam, voice-based clinical simulations marked as beta, CPD tools, an academy section, and daily games such as one where six clues lead to a single diagnosis. The site says these use active recall and spaced repetition. It's available on the web and as iOS and Android apps. Pricing isn't listed on the public pages.

Data and judgment

iatroX AI Ltd, registered in London, runs the service. Its privacy policy says the prompt or transcript needed for an AI feature may be processed by its AI service provider, that raw simulation audio isn't retained, and that simulation transcripts, tutor conversations and assessment results are normally kept for up to 180 days. It tells users not to put real patient-identifiable information into simulations, and that's a sensible rule for the clinical tools too. As with any clinical AI, treat answers as a starting point to check against the cited guidance, not a substitute for it.
