AI Health Export

Apple's own Health export is one large XML file, often 500 MB or more by the app's own comparison, which is too big for most AI chat uploads. AI Health Export reads your data through Apple Health on the iPhone and writes CSV files instead: daily summaries across up to 172 metrics (227 columns), plus a separate file with per-workout detail. Each export comes with an AI Data Guide that explains what every field means, so you can drop both files into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and ask about sleep, heart rate variability or training load without explaining the format first.

The same files open in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets, which suits anyone who would rather build their own charts. Version 3.0 added a dashboard with a recovery score and a sleep quality score, and it can export the medical records you've connected to Apple Health from patient portals, such as medications, lab results and conditions. The site says insurance and coverage data is never read.

The developer's story page describes building the app without a coding background, starting from a script that converted their own export for ChatGPT.

The free tier exports a 7-day window and 20 core metrics, enough to see whether the format works for you. Lifetime Export is $14.99 once and opens all time periods and all 172 metrics, plus the medical-records CSV. AI Health Chat costs $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year, billed through Apple with a 7-day trial. It adds the in-app chat, 50 starter prompts and a memory for things like medications and goals. Bringing medical records into the chat needs a paid chat plan and isn't part of the trial.

If you already use another AI tool and don't mind pasting files into it, the one-time purchase covers the export side. The subscription is for people who want the questions answered on the phone.

On the CSV path, the site says your health data stays on the iPhone until you share the file yourself, and after that the receiving tool's terms apply. The chat works differently. Opening AI Health Chat sends health context to Google's Gemini API, after a screen that shows what will be sent and asks you to agree. The privacy policy, updated November 3, 2026, says Google doesn't use paid API data to train its general models but keeps prompts, context and responses for 55 days for abuse monitoring. Saved chat memory lives on the phone and goes out with that context. Medical records stay out of the chat until you turn them on.

The chat is for adults 18 and over, and the site calls its answers educational, not medical advice. Its suggested questions about medications and lab results are best treated as things to bring to a doctor.
