Project Note

A closer look at Satisfactory Calculator

Satisfactory Calculator is a free, unofficial production planner for the game Satisfactory, with 139 item calculators, 298 recipes including 110 alternates, and power, overclock, fuel, miner and AWESOME Sink tools for game version 1.2.3.1.

What it does

Say you want ten Reinforced Iron Plates a minute. In Satisfactory that means working backwards through screws, iron plates, rods and ingots to the ore nodes, then counting machines and adding up the power. Satisfactory Calculator does that arithmetic. You choose the target item and rate, decide whether to stick with default recipes or switch in alternates, and it returns the machines needed, raw inputs per minute, any byproducts and a power estimate. The result can be copied as a list or shared as a link.

The production optimizer goes a step further and picks the alternate recipe mix that uses the fewest raw resources, which is the question players usually take to a spreadsheet once they've unlocked a few hard-drive recipes. Smaller tools cover the side questions: total megawatt draw, clock speed against power cost with power shards, generator fuel and water, miner output by node purity, and AWESOME Sink coupon points per item. There are also 139 per-item calculator pages, a recipes database and written guides, and the interface comes in English, German, French and Japanese.

Where the numbers come from

A planner is only as useful as its data, and the about page is open about the source. It lists game version 1.2.3.1, a dataset generated on June 25, 2026, 178 items and 298 recipes, 110 of them alternates. The values come from the community SCIM export of the game's own data files, and the few numbers missing from that export, such as Somersloop slot counts, are taken from the official wiki. When the game updates, it's worth checking that the version number on the site has moved too.

Who it is for

Satisfactory players planning a new line who would rather not juggle a wiki, a spreadsheet and a forum thread at once. It suits beginners who just want machine counts and experienced players weighing alternate recipes. Everything is free with no account. The privacy policy says calculator inputs are processed in your browser and not stored, and that the site shows Mediavine ads that may use cookies, with a consent banner in regions that require one. The footer states that it is an unofficial fan-made tool, not affiliated with Coffee Stain Studios.
