TodoNote
TodoNote treats every task as a page you can write in, so meeting prep, research and decisions stay attached to the to-do that produced them.

A closer look at TodoNote
TodoNote is a task manager where each to-do doubles as a note page. You plan tasks by day, write inside them as you work, and tag the useful ones so they turn into a searchable set of notes. Free covers 100 tasks; Pro is $5 a month.
What it does
In TodoNote, a task is also a page you can write in. You plan the day in lists such as Today, Tomorrow, Next Week and Brain dump, then open a task like "Prepare for the team meeting" and write the agenda, the questions you want answered and the progress you plan to report inside it. When part of that work needs its own date, you add it as a subtask and schedule it.
The notes are the point. Completing a task keeps everything written in it, and you can still read and edit it afterwards. If something is worth coming back to, you tag it, for example Areas/Product, and it shows up with your other product notes. The homepage demo shows this flow: a subtask called "Product thinking to share" gets tagged and then appears in the Product area while the parent task is still unchecked. A task can also stay a plain to-do; nothing makes you write a note for every item.
Plans, platforms and AI access
The free plan has every core feature, including MCP access, and does not expire. Its limit is 100 items per account in total, counting subtasks, completed tasks and anything in the trash, while the notes inside a task do not count separately. Attachments are capped at 5 MB per file. Pro costs $5 a month for unlimited items and attachments, and if you drop back to Free your content stays, though you can't create new items above 100 until you permanently delete some.
You can use TodoNote in the browser or in desktop apps for Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 11 and later) and Windows x64, all synced through one account. Intel Macs, Windows on ARM and Linux are pointed to the web app. Any AI client that supports remote MCP with OAuth can connect after you approve it, with read-only or read-and-write access.
Things to know first
The desktop apps, at version 1.1.8, are not notarized by Apple or code signed for Windows, so both systems may warn you or block the installer, and updates are manual downloads for now. The download page says plainly that you can use the web app instead of changing security settings. ActionWorks Inc. runs the service, and its privacy policy covers the tasks, notes and attachments you store, payments through Stripe, and the fact that a connected AI client follows its own provider's privacy practices. It gives no fixed retention period beyond keeping data as long as the service needs it.
The 100-item ceiling fills faster than it sounds, because completed and trashed tasks count. Free is still enough to find out whether writing inside your tasks suits the way you work.
