CITB Practice Test

The CITB Health, Safety and Environment test stands between most UK construction workers and a CSCS card, and it has a 90% pass mark. This site lets you rehearse it. The free mock gives you 50 questions in 45 minutes and marks you against the real threshold of 45 correct. The clock keeps running if you leave the page, as it would in a test centre. Each attempt draws a fresh set across CITB's five core knowledge areas, and when you submit you see your score by area and a worked explanation for every answer.

You pick the paper first. Operatives covers the green Labourer card, trainees, apprentices and most blue and gold craft cards. There are specialist papers for trades such as supervisors, lifts and escalators and tunnelling, and a Managers and Professionals mock you can take whole or by section. Topic quizzes cover areas like manual handling, safety signs, COSHH and fire safety.

Around the mocks are plain guides to the process: what the test covers, the £23.50 fee, how to book, test centres, ID and languages. The site notes that the real test has voiceover in 14 languages while this mock is English text only. There are also mock tests for CITB Site Safety Plus courses, including SMSTS, SSSTS and the Health and Safety Awareness course.

Without an account you get one timed mock and one topic quiz a week. A free account raises that to three mocks a week and keeps your last three results. Paid plans, at £3.99 a week, £4.99 a month or £9.99 a year, give unlimited mocks, full history, a missed-questions drill, ranked weak topics and a quiz maker. The weekly plan renews until you cancel and is not refundable.

The site is upfront that it is an independent practice site, not CITB, CSCS or Pearson VUE, and that it never books tests. You book the real one with CITB. Its facts are dated, for example checked against CITB's site on 25 October 2026. The privacy policy, written for UK GDPR, says an optional account stores your email, mock results and any payment record, Stripe handles cards, there is no advertising, and Google Analytics runs without cookies unless you opt in.
