As the site's About page points out, the tools that come with a phone mostly do photo collages or play clips one after another, and online editors that handle video usually want an account and an upload. collage.video does it in the browser. You open the page, pick a size, choose a layout, add your media and save a finished video.

There are 35 layouts, each with a preview and a count of how many cells it has. They cover split screens side by side or stacked, even grids, picture-in-picture insets and face-cam bubbles, polaroid piles, film strips, magazine pages and before-and-afters with labels. Sizes include 9:16 for Stories, Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 4:5, 3:4 and square for feeds, and 16:9 for YouTube, a laptop or a TV. You can add a soundtrack from your own song file, faded in and out, and keep each clip's sound, turn it down or silence it underneath.

The preview is drawn by your graphics hardware using the same drawing code as the export, so the saved file should match what you saw. On export, a background worker steps through every clip frame by frame, mixes the sound and writes a 1080p H.264 MP4. Where a browser can't encode that way, the page records the collage as it plays instead.

The privacy page, updated November 6, 2026, says the site has no upload feature and no storage for your media. To survive a reload or a closed tab, each collage is kept in the browser's IndexedDB storage with copies of its files and a thumbnail, and only the newest 12 are kept. There's no account, premium version or advertising, and exports have no watermark. The only data collected is visit statistics, with Google Analytics subject to your cookie choice.
