Project Note

A closer look at colorgrade.video

Grade a video or photo in the browser: try about 300 original looks, auto-balance colour, convert log footage, import a LUT, then export the video or the grade itself as a .cube file. Nothing is uploaded and there's no watermark.

What it does

colorgrade.video fills the gap between a phone's built-in filters and a desktop grading suite. You open a clip or a photo and browse around 300 original looks, from clean naturals and film stocks to vintage home movies, teal and orange, black and white and colour splash. Each look previews live on a frame of your own footage, and an Intensity slider sets how strong it is.

Before styling, the corrections tools do the boring part. Auto colour gives a quick neutral balance, Pick white removes a stubborn cast, and Match colours brings a clip in line with a photo or a frame from another video. If you shoot log, it has input handling for 17 camera log and HDR formats.

The Pro controls

Switching to Pro opens the tools a colourist expects: scopes including a waveform, vectorscope and histogram, lift, gamma, gain and offset wheels, custom and hue curves, eight-band HSL, and secondary layers limited by a qualifier or a window. You can stack layers and import LUTs. Effects like halation and bloom are added in a second pass, and the site notes that preview and export share the same code, so the saved file should match what you approved.

When you're happy, Copy grade applies it to your next clip. Export .cube turns your grade into a LUT for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut Pro or CapCut on desktop, and Still image saves a graded frame as a PNG.

Privacy and limits

The privacy policy, updated November 6, 2026, says your videos never leave your device, with no upload step and no copy on any server. It's free with no watermark, sign-up or limit on the number of clips. Google Analytics runs subject to a cookie choice. The site is also clear about what grading can't do. It can't restore colour the camera never captured, every export is a fresh encode, and for a long multi-camera project it recommends a desktop suite instead.
