Chatway

Chatway puts a chat bubble on your website and gives you somewhere to answer it. Install the widget by pasting code or through an app for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, Duda and several other platforms, then reply from the browser or the iOS and Android apps. The basics are on every plan, including canned responses, FAQs inside the widget, buttons that link to your social chat channels, and widget design settings.

It also works as a shared inbox, with WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram conversations next to website chats. Paid plans add email, live translation, real-time visitor insights, automated greetings and away messages, post-chat surveys and a help center. For stores, the Shopify and WooCommerce integrations let an agent see a visitor's orders and cart, share products and coupons, and answer order-status questions in the chat.

There are two. Chatway's own AI Support Agent answers from the sources you give it, such as text and website links, replies in several languages and hands the conversation to your team when it can't help. You can decide when it responds and take over at any point. It's billed per resolved conversation, at $0.50 each, after 10 free ones, and it's available on the free plan too.

The other option is bringing your own AI. Chatway exposes an API, webhooks and an MCP server, so a separate agent built on ChatGPT, Claude or another model can read and answer conversations. That's included even on the free plan.

The free plan has one seat, 50 conversations a month and 30 days of chat and contact history, with a 14-day trial of paid features. Business costs $31 a month billed yearly ($39 monthly) for two seats and 200 conversations, and Plus costs $159 billed yearly ($199 monthly) for ten seats, 1,000 conversations, routing and multiple inboxes and widgets. Extra seats are $16 to $19 a month, and there's a 30-day refund window.

Chatway is operated by Poptin Ltd. under Israeli law, according to its terms. The privacy policy, updated October 6, 2026, says that when the AI agent is on, visitor messages may be processed by AI systems, with Chatway acting as processor and the website owner as controller, so you're expected to tell your visitors about it.
